Dunière Wildlife Reserve Management

The Dunière Wildlife Reserve is located on a private forest but is part of the network of government wildlife reserves whose responsibility for wildlife management falls under the Minister of the Environment, Climate Change, Wildlife, and Parks.

Lacroix Forest Management has mandated the CGRMP (Matapédia and Patapédia Rivers Management Corporation) to manage wildlife in the reserve, as well as in the territory governed by an agreement for the implementation of sections 36 and 37 of the Act respecting the conservation and development of wildlife.

The Dunière Wildlife Reserve is particularly renowned for its moose density (23 per 10 km²).

The Dunière Wildlife Reserve is home to various species such as black bear, lynx, marten, fisher, beaver, coyote, various bird and aquatic species, and more, allowing many trappers to carry out their trapping activities under strict regulations.

For more information on hunting, fishing, and trapping activities, please contact the CGRMP.
